Using the Terrain Tool or Drills, players may extract resources from naturally formed deposits found scattered throughout the various planets. These resources can be used to be crafted into refined or composite resources using a Smelting Furnace or a Chemistry Lab, respectively. The most common way of obtaining resource nuggets is extracting them, either directly from resource deposits, from the atmosphere, or from Soil in a Soil Centrifuge. The items in the table below are composite resources created in the Chemistry Lab, with some requiring an Atmospheric Resource. A higher PPU will result in a shorter gathering time. This table lists the part per unit (PPU) the player may get on a planet of each atmospheric resource. The items listed in the table below are refined using the Smelting Furnace. The following natural resources are found on specific planets: Soil Organic Compound Resin Clay Quartz Ammonium Graphite Laterite Astronium The following resources are found naturally on all planets: Some resources, such as Scrap, EXO Chips, biofuels, Oxygen, and Power do not fit into any of these categories. Most natural and atmospheric resources are used to create refined and composite resources at a Smelting Furnace or Chemistry Lab. Likewise, atmospheric resources, or gases, are available on most planets, except for Desolo, with two types of gases available on Sylva, Calidor and Novus, four on Atrox, three on Vesania and only a single atmospheric resource on Glacio. Natural resources vary in rarity, with some occurring on every planet and others only appearing on a couple of planets. There are four main types of resources: natural, atmospheric, refined, and composite resources. Apart from that, some resources may be converted into Power using generators, with all of them being able to be converted into Bytes using the Research Chamber, or sometimes used in a limited time event. They are mainly used as ingredients when crafting the Items needed to play the game. Resources can be obtained by extracting them, crafting them, trading at the Trade Platform, or finding them on Discoveries. Resources are the main components of nearly every item in Astroneer.

Atrox takes 20 minutes to complete a full rotation, which is the same time that Glacio takes to complete a full rotation.A map of resource crafting dependencies for version 1.0.

Atrox is a Latin word meaning such things as savage, cruel, frightening or monstrous, fitting Atrox's many hostile lifeforms.According to the Sun Room logs, surviving Atrox is a badge of honor for the Astroneer Explorer branch.Atrox is usually the last stop on the adventure of the astroneers.Atrox is the only planet that requires a Gas to activate its core.Atrox is the only planet that has Helium.Since the planet has low wind and sunlight and an abundance of Organic sources, the best source for power would be Medium Generators or the RTG.Placing the Geometric Triptych in the slot on the opposite side (above you) will activate the engine, revealing the Odd Stone and allowing teleportation to the core as well as revealing the inactive node for the Gateway Portal if it has not yet been discovered.Ītrox is the only planet that requires an Atmospheric Resource to activate the Gateway Engine. Placing a single Hydrogen(full canister) in one of the slots reveals the Geometric Triptych. Once a Gateway Chamber has been activated, the Gateway Engine opens in the core.

3 Medium Generators on a Large Platform B plus a couple of Small Generators or at least 3 QT-RTGs will be required. Proceed at your own risk.Ītrox has six Gateway Chambers, each requiring 30U/s of power for 30 seconds to be activated.
